Founded in 2018, Timber Valley Tree Services offers top-quality arboricultural services in Dolgellau and across North and mid-Wales. Specialising in tree dismantling for both commercial and domestic clients, we serve large landowners, Gwynedd Council, Eryri National Park, and many private clients. Our commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and sustainable practices have earned us a loyal client base and repeat business.
In 2022, we expanded into milling to address the ash dieback crisis, preventing valuable timber from being wasted as firewood. We now operate a lumber production facility on the Nannau Estate, ensuring accessibility for timber lorries and customers. Our goal is to supply sustainable, locally sourced hardwood and softwood lumber to the Dolgellau area.
The Team
David
David has over 15 years of experience in the timber industry, beginning his career at 19. His background in forestry includes roles such as chainsaw operation as part of a skyline team and extensive experience with heavy plant machinery operation and maintenance. In 2014, David joined a local utility arborist company, where he gained climbing and utility arborist qualifications, eventually becoming lead climber. In 2018, he founded Timber Valley Tree Services and has been the proprietor ever since.

Thomas Jason Owen
Tom has been with Timber Valley Tree Services for over two years, having previously worked with David at a local utility arborist company. He also has experience with a local builders’ merchant and Gwynedd Council’s Highways Department. Academically, Tom studied forestry and land management at Glyn Llyfon College and has a passion for outdoor work. Growing up on a farm, he is also skilled in stone walling and fencing.

Edward Leeds
Edward joined the team just before Christmas and has integrated well. Trained as a welder, he has worked for Ifor Williams Trailers and a fabrication company in Ruthin. Edward has completed several qualifications and will be pursuing more later this year.
